This Mexican tortilla press is the easy way to make consistent Mexican corn tortillas at home.

The cast iron round tortilla press is made to a traditional design. Place a ball of masa harina dough in the middle of the open press. Close the two halves, then press down on the handle to instantly make a perfectly thin and round tortilla. Always use greaseproof paper or cling film between your tortilla press and masa dough - which also makes it easier to remove the pressed tortillas.

The Mexican tortilla press comes in two sizes:

• 16cm (makes tortillas 12cm and smaller)

• 19cm (makes tortillas 15cm and smaller)

Use gentle pressure when pressing tortillas to avoid damaging the handle. Excessive force can cause breakage.

This press is ideal for soft dough made from masa harina. For wheat tortillas, we recommend using a rolling pin as the gluten requires more effort to flatten.

These presses are rustic, so may arrive with minor rough patches or rusting. Clean thoroughly upon arrival, scrub well, dry completely, and buff with a small amount of cooking oil to ensure longevity.
